Rise Academy is a high-performing KIPP public charter school and the second middle school in the TEAM Schools network in Newark, NJ. Located in the West Ward of the city, Rise is in the middle of only its second year, but already students have made exceptional academic progress. Last year, the founding fifth-grade class last year advanced multiple grade levels on average in both math and reading and outperformed all traditional Newark public schools in math and reading on state standardized tests.

Now serving 180 students in grades 5-6, Rise will eventually grow to serve 360 Newark students in the 5^th through 8^th grades, instilling in them the desire and the ability to succeed in college, in order to change the world.
